Shay Mitchell is a Canadian model and actress. She is best known for her character Emily Fields in the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After exceling in modeling and dancing, she wanted to give it a go at acting and took acting lessons in Toronto. Mitchell was able to land several commercials as well as was a guest on the TV show before landing her first big part as Emily Fields. The show was highly praised for its talents by critics as well the fans. After that, she would become a star in the world of big screen with films such as Dreamland Mother's Dayand The belonging of Hannah Grace. Her role in the series of psychological thrillers "You" has earned her greater fame. Apart from acting, Shay Mitchell also dabbled in writing. Together with Michaela Blaney she wrote an adult novel titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell, born April 10, 1987, in Ontario, Canada, was raised by her grandparents Mark Mitchell, and Precious Garca. She was the daughter of Filipino immigrants, while her father was of Irish as well as Scottish roots. Mitchell is also in a close friendship with Lea Salonga. She is an actress, singer and musical theater actor. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary school before she was transferred into West Vancouver Secondary. Mitchell was already modeling around the world in her early teens. She visited Barcelona, Bangkok, Hong Kong before returning home to Toronto where she began studying acting.
